Explore the agricultural plants of Oceania! Learn about selected plants and begin to create a culinary field guide. Instructor: Tania Merian, founder, Artplantae, LLC, artist & educator, member of the Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California.
Session I:
Describing the Plants of Eastern Indonesia Learn botanical illustration techniques of Georgius Everhardus Rumphius (1627- 1702), a naturalist who spent 50 years gathering information about the native plants of Ambon, an island in Indonesia. Rumphius' detailed plant descriptions and illustrations were used to create "The Ambonese Herbal."
