at Unknown

In its first Orange County appearance in nearly 30 years, the Rotterdam Philharmonic visits with critically acclaimed French pianist Hélène Grimaud under the baton of music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who makes his Orange County debut. Renowned for her interpretations of Brahms, Hélène Grimaud will display her technical prowess with Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1, a work that reflects Brahms’ effort to cast piano and orchestra as equal partners.

Founded in 1918, the Rotterdam Philharmonic is one of Europe’s foremost orchestras and celebrated for the intense energy of its performances. Yannick Nézet-Séguin also serves as music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra, principal guest conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and artistic director and principal conductor of the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal.
