Conductor Enrique Bátiz and the State Symphony Orchestra of México commemorate the 40th anniversary of the orchestra’s inaugural tour of the United States, kicking off their spring 2015 tour in Orange County. Recognized for its promotion of music as a means of uniting and identifying the Mexican people, the orchestra’s cosmopolitan program offers the best of both worlds—two rarely performed works by Mexican composer Manuel Ponce framed by works by Russian composers Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Alexander Borodin.

Described as an artist who conducts with vehemence and enthusiasm, Enrique Bátiz is one of the most famous orchestra conductors in Latin America. He has led more than 500 symphony orchestras around the world and has an extensive repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary works.
