INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY brings together communities, schools, artists, historians, academics, and jazz enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate and learn about jazz and its roots, future and impact; raise awareness of the need for intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding; and reinforce international cooperation and communication.

On and around April 30^th every year, this international art form is recognized for promoting peace, dialogue among cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights and human dignity; eradicating discrimination; promoting freedom of expression; fostering gender equality; and reinforcing the role of youth in enacting social change.

ABOUT DAYREN SANTAMARIA & MADE IN CUBA BAND! Dayren Santamaria was fated to be an entertainer. Born in Matanzas, Cuba this virtuoso Afro-Cuban violinist's passion for music has taken her on a journey around the world and across musical styles.

Her band Dayren Santamaria & Made in Cuba is comprised of Grammy winners and recording artists Oscar Hernandez (Piano), Raul Pineda (Drums/Timbales), Joey De Leon (Congas/Vocals), Alfred Ortiz (Vocals/Percussion), and Ross Schodek (Bass).
