The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association is hosting a 3-Day outdoor plein air painting workshop lead by LPAPA Signature Artist and Distinguished Pastelist Clark Mitchell. Clark will be sharing a methodical approach to confident outdoor painting with the focus on: Scene selection. Thumbnail sketching. Composition exercises. Underpainting to save time. Getting your values and color temperature right. Simplifying. Finishing touches.
Clark's daily painting demonstrations will be in pastel, however, all painting mediums are welcome.
Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 students so that Clark can provide personal attention to each participant.

About LPAPA: The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA) is a Laguna based nonprofit art organization that was established in 1996 and has a membership that expands the US. About the Instructor: Clark Mitchell is designated a Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America and a Distinguished Pastelist by the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and he earned the designation of Signature Member status with the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. He has received numerous awards in local as well as national competitions and has oil and pastel paintings included in art collections internationally. In 2005, Mitchell won Best of Show award at the Laguna Plein Air Invitational, and in 2011 won Best of Show in the Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational. Clark will be traveling from his Northern California home base to Laguna Beach to lead this workshop — so don’t miss this rare opportunity to study with him!
