Kara Lee

Presented by Artist Eye Laguna Gallery at Artist Eye Laguna Gallery

Kara is currently a resident of Newport Coast, CA.  Prior to moving to California, she has lived in  various cities both in the US and abroad.  She holds a B.A. degree in fine art and business management. While she had worked as a financial analyst in the international banking industry for 15 years, her passion for art never died. She resumed her art career in the early 2000's and since then, her paintings have been sold locally as well as in Canada and Korea. She is a member of  Orange County Fine Arts (OCFA) and  a signature member of International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP).

Kara's work primarily consists of acrylic paintings on canvas.  She gains inspiration from both ordinary objects around us and fascinating scenes of far-away places. Variety is important in her choice of subject matters.  She sees the beauty of nature in landscapes, the harmony of different objects placed one next to each other in still life, and the wonders of shapes and emotions in figures. She is absorbing these visual miracles and trying to express them in her own creative way. Through the use of vibrant colors, she composes her observations and experiences into simplified, yet stylized shapes and forms. Kara's art can be best described as contemporary, half abstract/ half-realistic.  In a world that is becoming more and more connected, she is interested in how the relevant moments in her life form connections with others. Her mission is to create images that can convey a sense of pleasure to the viwer, wherher it is joy, peace, or tranquility.
