About the Event: Join us in watching Micheal paint live, ask him questions, and learn more about his technique and style in lecture format. Enjoy a day of learning and observation with fellow watercolor enthusiasts, no supplies needed. Father Michael Tang will focus on exploring the importance of color transitions and color theory. Through layering washes, utilizing the wet into wet technique, and varying colors within value shapes, Michael will demonstrate how to create beautiful and luminous watercolors.
About the Artist: Father Michael Tang has been a professor of Art and Art History at Loyola Marymount University for the past 29 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Loyola Marymount University and his Master of Fine Arts Degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Known especially for his brilliant sporting art, Tang produced the original watercolor paintings for the Capital Challenge Horse Show for 20 years. Fr. Tang’s works are included in public and private collections nationwide.
