Join us for this inaugural event. Page to Stage: That’s What She Said is a Playwrights Festival featuring unpublished plays that celebrate the female voice. Become part of the writer’s process and participate in an artist talk back after each staged reading. A must see for theatre lovers! The 2019 festival is produced in partnership with Project La Femme.

What is Page to Stage?

The purpose of the Page to Stage Playwright’s Festival is to nurture new plays and new playwrights. It is our goal to work with new and local playwrights to help them develop their craft and to offer brand new plays for audiences in our community. The Curtis Theatre will also use the festival to find and develop new works for future seasons. The 2019 festival is produced in partnership with Project LaFemme. Project La Femme is committed to creating art that challenges dialogue, while at the same time promoting and amplifying artists who produce visual, performing, and socially engaging art projects. Their mission is to create and explore images and definitions of women through diversity, inclusiveness and honesty. Curtis Theater and Project La Femme are providing a professional showcase opportunity for writers seeking to explore and focus on the female voice. Page to Stage is a unique chance to have new work presented as a staged reading by a director, dramaturge, and actors on the Curtis Theatre stage, giving the new work exposure to local industry professionals, the community, and an audience.
