True to the original social function of chamber music, Camera Lucida is a project of friendship and personal exploration—a chamber music collaboration between musicians with diverse backgrounds, including principal members of the San Diego Symphony, performance faculty of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and Columbia University, and guests from the international chamber music world. Created by a generous gift from the Sam B. Ersan Chamber Music Fund, Camera Lucida is known for its tradition of musically ambitious programs, matching masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire with a group of world-class instrumentalists who happen to call San Diego home. Join them as they explore the whimsical tunes and lyricism of one of Shostakovich’s most popular chamber music works, the Piano Quintet in G minor, along with works by Bridge and Bartók.
