Why Music Matters: Intro to the Orchestra

Why Music Matters: Intro to the Orchestra

Presented by Philharmonic Society of Orange County at Unknown

Orange County Youth Symphony
Host to be announced

Launching our inaugural Family Concert Series, this free event is designed for listeners of all levels! Whether you are new to classical music or a seasoned listener, deepen your understanding and appreciation of classical music as we explore the orchestra: its formation, history, and traditions. Enjoy musical demonstrations by special guests and leading experts, and participate in an open forum Q&A.

Founded in 1970, the Orange County Youth Symphony is the official youth orchestra of Orange County. The diverse roster represents student musicians from nearly 50 high school and college programs from San Clemente to Fullerton and beyond. The Orange County Youth Symphony community of young musicians and their families is particularly committed to advancing and sharing the intercultural love of orchestral music. They serve as music ambassadors to each other and to the local schools, districts, and cities. With the support of a small staff and board, the orchestra is energetically led by the music director and conductor, Johannes Müller Stosch.
