Grammy Award-winning violinist Midori and renowned pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet team up for a series of three concerts covering all ten of Beethoven's Violin Sonatas. Part two of this exclusive West Coast engagement of the complete cycle showcases Sonata Nos. 5, 6, and 10.

Hailed as one of the violin’s most “intense, assured and polished’’ (The Washington Times) performers, Midori is a visionary artist, activist, and educator whose career has transcended traditional boundaries through her relentless drive to explore and build connections between music and the human experience. Never at rest, Midori brings the same dynamic innovation and expressive insight that has made her a prominent concert violinist to her other roles as a noted global cultural ambassador and dedicated music educator.

For three decades, Jean-Yves Thibaudet has performed around the world and recorded more than 50 albums, with a depth and natural charisma that have made him one of today’s most sought-after soloists. A two time Grammy Award nominee, Thibaudet has been the recipient of many accolades worldwide. In 2016 on the 150th anniversary of Erik Satie’s birth, Decca released a box set of Satie’s complete solo piano music performed by Thibaudet, the foremost interpreter and champion of the composer’s work. In 2010 he released Gershwin, featuring big jazz band orchestrations of Rhapsody in Blue, Variations on ‘I Got Rhythm’, and the Piano Concerto in F recorded live with the Baltimore Symphony and music director Marin Alsop.
