Stars of numerous prestigious international music competitions, South Korean violinist Bomsori Kim and Polish pianist Rafal Blechacz are two of today's most vibrant emerging musical personalities. As new duo partners, their first recording for Deutsche Grammophon, released in January 2019, will feature works by Fauré, Debussy, Chopin and Szymanowski.

Winner of the 62nd ARD International Music Competition, Bomsori Kim is internationally regarded as one of today’s most exciting instrumentalists. Describing her playing, MusicWeb International explains “It is a performance of sensitively graded emotions, acute dynamic range and inspired rhythmic flow. It certainly doesn’t get any better than this.” She is a prizewinner of numerous prestigious international violin competitions, including the Tchaikovsky International Competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover, the Montreal International Musical Competition and the Sendai International Music Competition, among many more. She also won both the Second Prize and Critic’s Prize, as well as nine additional special prizes, at the 15th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition.

Recognized as his generation’s greatest performer of Chopin’s works, pianist Rafal Blechacz is perhaps best known for his sweeping victory at the 2005 Chopin International Piano Competition, where he was the sole recipient of every prize awarded as well as the first Polish pianist in 30 years to win the top prize.
