The community is invited to join the City of Irvine and FivePoint in celebrating the grand opening of the expanded kids play area from 9 to 11 a.m. opening day, Saturday, November 16. Mayor Christina L. Shea, Councilmember and Great Park Board Chair Farrah N. Khan, and FivePoint COO Lynn Jochim will speak and officially open the playground with a ribbon-cutting at 9:15 a.m. No RSVP is required for this free public event, which will include kid-friendly activities and refreshments such as coffee, donuts, cocoa, juices, and water provided by FivePoint.

The Great Park’s new playground is adjacent to the Great Park Visitors Center. It includes climbing structures, a sand play area, seating areas, a music meadow, zip lining, bike racks, shade structures, and more.
