Two hours into surgery, Susan's mother loses oxygen to her brain, the plastic surgeon does not call 9-1-1 for 14 minutes, and five days later, in a coma, she flatlines.  The surgeon is charged with medical negligence, her family falls apart, and for 19 years no one talks about happened to their mother.  140 LBS How Beauty Killed My Mother, is a theatrical, autobiographical solo dramedy written and performed by Susan Lieu and directed by Sara Porkalob.  At her wedding, Susan sees her mother's empty chair and realizes she can no longer be silent.   Susan Lieu plays 11 characters in 75 minutes, weaving the story through the lens of the Vietnamese refugee experience.

"Fascinating, touching, upsetting, poignant, startling, affecting, engrossing, emotional, informative and, more than anything, humane" -The San Francisco Chronicle
