Victor & Tatiana Kasatsky - Resident Masters, V&T Classical Ballet & Dance Academy

Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky were born in Russia and received classical ballet training there. Victor was a principal dancer in the Moscow Classical Ballet. Tatiana met Victor after she graduated from the Bolshoi Academy and also became a principal dancer with the Moscow Classical Ballet. Victor and Tatiana shared the stage with great dancers such as Natalya Makarova, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Maya Plisetzkaya, Nadejda Pavlova, and Vladimir Malakhov. They also worked with world famous choreographers such as Pierre Lacotte and Alberto Alonso, and danced pieces choreographed by Roland Petit and George Balanchine.

Victor and Tatiana are recipients of the Teacher Recognition Certificate from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. They have won numerous Outstanding School/Outstanding Teacher awards at regional Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP) competitions. Many of their students have excelled in ballet competitions and been awarded scholarships and/or accepted at prestigious companies around the US and Europe, which is a testament to Victor and Tatiana’s passion and success at developing promising young dancers. Victor and Tatiana have also had two of their students selected to compete at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne.

Larissa Saveliev - YAGP Founder, Bolshoi Theatre

Ms. Saveliev was trained at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. As a member of Bolshoi Ballet, she has toured throughout Russia, England, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Egypt, and Japan. Her repertoire includes most of the ballets from the classical repertoire, including Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Le Corsaire, Raymonda, and Giselle, as well as works by Yuri Grigorovich, George Balanchine, Antony Tudor, and Agnes de Mille. Since coming to the United States in 1995, Ms. Saveliev has continued her dance career with such companies as the Los Angeles Classical Ballet, The New Jersey Ballet, and Tulsa Ballet. In 1999, she was chosen to choreograph for the Princess Grace Awards Ceremony. A respected dance educator, Ms. Saveliev appears as a master teacher and stages classical ballet productions at schools around the country.

Elena Ovchinnikova - Principal Dancer, New Russian Ballet,

Teacher of Bolshoi Ballet Academy & Imperial Ballet

Elena Ovchinnikova is one of the most educated Vaganova ballet scholars in the world. She has won 3 International Ballet Competition Awards…one from Zagreb in 2012, from Rome in 2007, and Vienna in 2007. She is the author of the “Breath in Choreography” program and book which has the honor of being approved by the Academic Council of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (Bolshoi Ballet Academy). The innovative method has been used in educational ballet lessons since 2002.

Elena has a Ph.D. in Theory and Methods of Dance from theMoscow State Academy of Choreography (also known as the Bolshoi Ballet Academy); in 2009 she graduated as Ballet Pedagogue, with honors, from Moscow State Academy of Choreography (Bolshoi Ballet Academy); she also graduated as Joint M.Sc./M.D., Medical Cybernetics, in 2004, (that is Medical Doctor studies combined with scientific training) from the Russian State Medical University, Moscow.

Igor Yurlov - Bolshoi Theatre Soloist

1971-1979: The Moscow Academic Choreography School at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. Under the personal guidance Professor Pestov, Peter Antonovich.
1981 – 1999: The Bolshoi Theatre troupe in Russia. Prepared and danced many solo roles and leading roles in ballets such as: «Le Corsaire”, “Giselle”, “Love for Love”, “Gayane”, “Anuta,” “Walpurgis Night”, “Chipolino”, Ivan Susanin – mazurka, “Prince Igor – Polovtsian Dances. In Yuri Grigorovich’s ballets: “Spartacus, “Ivan the Terrible”, “Golden Age “, ” Romeo and Juliet “. Concert numbers: Andrew variation from the ballet “Taras Bulba », pas de deux «Diana and Actaeon», pas de deux «Flame of Paris », pas de deux«Le Corsaire”.

Igor worked and trained in the with the great masters of the Russian ballet scene: Galina Ulanova, Asaf Meserer, Maya Plisetskaya, Mikhail Lavrovsky, Yuri Vladimirov, Shamil Yagudin, Natalia Bessmertnova, Yuri Grigorovich. Igor now teaches at a private ballet “BT Studio” in Moscow. Ready to prepare young dancers to the contests performance and even to a professional ballet stage.

Audition Fee: $25

Please arrive early with filled out registration form to receive a number and pay the audition fee at the reception desk. If your dancer does pointe work, please bring pointe shoes. Audition will be held in a regular technique class format.

1 week session $500

2 week session $950 (7/6 – 7/17 OR 7/20 – 7/31)

4 week session $1400

There will be an in-studio performance at the end of the intensive for those attending all 4 weeks only.
Summer intensive application due by May 1, 2015 with final payment due by June 15, 2015.
Limited availability with priority given to those dancers attending all 4 weeks.
Space is limited. Students will be notified by May 15, 2015 via e-mail whether they have been accepted.
Waitlisted students will also be notified.
Bonus $100 discounted tuition offered to those attending 4 weeks who submit their application and $500 deposit by April 1, 2015.
