The City of Newport Beach will be hosting two fun and creative spring break workshops for students this year.

AM 9-12pm CARTOONING  (ages 5-10)The Art of Cartooning not only teaches students spatial and linear designs to create fond and favorite characters, but artists will also be given fun exercises to strengthen creative intuition and enthusiasm for drawing. Students will be drawing known and popular cartoons as well as creating their own unique characters.

PM 12:30-3:30 ANIME /MANGA  (ages 9-14) Students will learn to design their own characters with creative exercises and will also reproduce designs from established animations. Instruction is given on form and composition, human anatomy, facial features, character figure, proportions, shading movement & action. Students will learn illustration techniques, backgrounds, color application and scenery while developing their own individual creative style. Professional illustration pens, pencils and ink mediums are used.
