Orange County Justice Center Inaugural Runway of Strength Gala

Presented by Orange County Family Justice Center at Unknown

Iconic Actor/Comedian Cheech Marin will emcee the inaugural “Runway of Strength Gala” for the Orange County Family Justice Center Foundation (OCFJC). Hosted by long-time OCFJC supporters Patrick and Jolynn Mahoney at their exquisite Anaheim Hills Lost World Estate, this event will serve as the largest fundraising event held by the OCFJC Foundation in its 9 year history.

Over 300 attendees will see survivors of family violence, celebrities, and dignitaries strut down the Runway of Strength showcasing the wares of Betinnis Fashion. Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada, Anaheim Fire Chief Randy Bruegman, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, former Senator Lou Correa, Orange County Supervisor Todd Spitzer, O.C. Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, former NFL stars Vince Ferragamo and Mike Lansford, and internationally acclaimed classical pianist, Natasha Marin have committed to this event. Expect future announcements of additional VIP’s to participate.  This spectacular evening will include cocktails, appetizers and VIP ticket holders will enjoy dinner designed by Ms. Debbie Juliani from Aramark Sports & Entertainment, an exciting live and silent auction, the O.C. fashion show of the year, and after party with live music by local Blues band Detour 91.  VIP ticket holders will also be treated to a tour of the Lost World Estate and its sprawling gardens.

All proceeds from the Runway of Strength Gala will fund essential programs provided by the Orange County Family Justice Center Foundation.  The OCFJC, founded by retired Anaheim Police Chief John Welter in 2006, provides a long-term positive impact on our community by compassionately providing effective, coordinated services and support to people whose lives have been touched by child abuse, domestic violence, elder/dependent adult abuse, or sexual assault.

Recognizing the need for violence prevention, Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada commented on the value of the OCFJC and the success of the Foundation: “As a police organization, we commit significant resources toward breaking the cycle of family violence that unfortunately grips far too many families in our communities.  The education, compassion, and empowerment delivered by the programs of the OCFJC and its Foundation, provides the tools and resources necessary for victims and families to live free of violence.”

“A debt of gratitude is owed to our incredible volunteer leadership and generous donors,” said Retired Anaheim Police Chief John Welter.  “OCFJC is an excellent example of law enforcement partnering with its community to bring fundamental changes to families, reducing violence and changing lives into future generations.”

Orange County Family Justice Center serves 5000 victims of family violence annually.  Funds raised go to providing and expanding violence prevention programs.  For sponsorship opportunities, VIP packages and tickets go to: OCFJC website; facebook.com/OCFJCFoundation; twitter.com/OCFJCFoundation
