HB APA Presents "The Scarlet Letter"

Presented by Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts at Unknown

The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts’ theatre department will retell this classic novel’s story of retaining strength and dignity when faced with ridicule in the public eye.

Robert Rotenberry, APA’s theatre Chair, will direct this drama by Halsted Welles.

“Nathaniel Hawthorne’s complex, powerful and moving story of Hester Prynne is brought to life vividly by Halsted Welles whose play follows the novel faithfully. With an impressive set and historical costumes created by our student designers, APA’s The Scarlet Letter is both epic and intimate as the talented actors bring forth these classic characters. English students have read the book for many years and now they can watch it on the stage,” said Rotenberry.

Enjoy APA’s The Scarlet Letter in Huntington Beach High School’s Historic Auditorium and Bell Tower on April 23-26: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22 for adults and $16 for students or seniors age 65+.
