The Picerne Family Foundation has initiated Shelter-in-Place: Face-to-Face. Volunteer artists, writers and musicians provide live, one-on-one face-to-face lessons free of charge through interactive video platforms such as Zoom, Skype and Face Time.
Are you or a family member feeling some cabin fever? Maybe going a little stir crazy from being cooped up? How about taking up a new activity or brushing up your skills on an old one? To provide a little welcome relief the Picerne Family Foundation is arranging live one-on-one music/art/writing lessons. These 15 – 30 minute “in-person” lessons will be conducted through programs such as Skype or Zoom. The instructors are all local professional artists who are donating their time for this project. There is no fee for these lessons. To date, we can connect you with artists with the following specialties:
General art, collage, stitching, art with stories. All ages. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
General art, origami, clay, recycled art. All ages.
Music, keyboard/piano, Ages 6-10.
Drawing, painting. All ages.
Guitar, all styles. Ages 8 – 16. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Poetry, short stories, folk tales. All ages.
Singing, guitar. 60 years old and up. Spanish only.
If you would like to schedule a session, visit the Contact page on the Picerne Family Foundation website: https://picernefoundation.org/contact-us/. And if you need help getting set up on one of the interactive formats, the Foundation can help walk you through it also.
Indicate in your note to the Foundation which art specialty listed above you are interested in. We will fulfill as many requests as possible on a first come first serve basis.
The teachers are very enthusiastic. We look forward to hearing from you.
