Speak in Real-Time to Educational Guides at FIDM’s Free Virtual Open House PLUS A Special Fashion Presentation by FIDM Fashion Design Co-Chairs, Nick Verreos and David Paul

FIDM invites you to attend the college’s first Summer Virtual Open House. The Virtual Open House is free of charge. Attendees will meet educators, take a virtual tour of FIDM’s flagship campus in Downtown Los Angeles and experience the state-of-the-industry facilities. From the inspiring library and study spaces to the inviting classrooms, the environment is overflowing with creativity. (See Agenda and registration information below).

The FIDM Co-Chairs of Fashion Design, Nick Verreos and David Paul, will give a special presentation called “FIDM x CALIFORNIA FASHION.” With a career-focused curriculum, learn how the Fashion Design program prepares the design talent for the realities of a career in fashion.

For the first time, the college’s annual Open House event will be digital, featuring a virtual exhibit hall with booths highlighting student services and various areas of study. In addition, there will be a virtual auditorium for informational presentations and lectures.

Participants can also join engaging presentations focused on FIDM Fashion Club for high school and college students, scholarship opportunities, and much more. Speak in real-time to Department Chairs and successful FIDM Alumni, plus view dynamic student work. The virtual Open House program will provide in-depth information about FIDM’s degree offerings and career outlook.

10:00am: Welcome

Hear from a diverse array of FIDM students, take a virtual tour of the FIDM Downtown Los Angeles Campus and watch a video of FIDM highlights.

10:30am: Design, Business & Student Services Booths

Visit booths dedicated to Design, Business, and Student Services to speak directly to Department Chairs and learn about the range of majors and degree paths, from AA to MBA.

12:00pm: Fashion Club Auditorium Session

Learn about the FIDM Fashion Club program, including how to start a club in your high school or college and FIDM Scholarship opportunities.

1:00pm: Fashion Design Auditorium Session

Hear from Nick Verreos and David Paul, Co-Chairs of the Fashion Design department. Their topic: FIDM x CALIFORNIA FASHION. Learn how the Fashion Design program prepares design talent for a career in fashion. Learn about Advanced Fashion Design, Footwear Design, Jewelry and more.

2:00pm: Admissions Auditorium Session and Q&A

FIDM Fall 2020 quarter begins October 7, 2020. In this session, you will hear from current FIDM Students and Admissions Advisors, and learn more about the college and degree programs.

ABOUT

Nick Verreos and David Paul

Nick Verreos and David Paul are Co-Chairs of Fashion Design at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, directing the college’s Fashion, Costume, Footwear and Jewelry Design programs.

They are the co-founders of the fashion label NIKOLAKI, established in 2001. Celebrities such as Beyoncé, Katy Perry and Heidi Klum, among others, have worn their red-carpet gowns and cocktail dresses. Their designs have been carried in over 100 stores and featured on various home shopping networks, across the U.S. and abroad.

Nick Verreos was the winning mentor of Project Runway: Under the Gunn and first received national and international attention after appearing on Project Runway, and currently is Consulting Producer for the show on Bravo TV. He's a red-carpet fashion expert and correspondent for various networks including E! Entertainment, KTLA and ABC’s On The Red Carpet LIVE from the Oscars.

David Paul has built an extensive resume in the world of entertainment and fashion styling for over 20 years. As a member of IATSE Local 705, David designed costumes and worked on shows such as Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, Passions, Undressed, and numerous other productions for MTV, ABC, FOX, Nickelodeon, and the WB.

He also worked alongside Andre Leon Talley and Lisa Love for Vogue with such illustrious photographers as Arthur Elgort, Regan Cameron, Noe DeWitt, and Amanda DeCadanet, styling for Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Paradis, Twiggy, and Heather Graham.
