Comprised of three Danes and a Norwegian, the Danish String Quartet currently has a coveted appointment with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s highly regarded CMS Two program and is arguably one of the most sought-after quartets in the United States.
Frequently incorporating adventurous contemporary works into its programs alongside classical masterworks, the Danish String Quartet makes its Orange County debut performing Thomas Adés’ wistful Arcadiana (1994), an early masterpiece by the British composer, composed when Adés was in his early 20s. Also on the program are Haydn’s String Quartet No. 2 in C major, Op. 54, and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135.
