In conjunction with the Yesterday’s Future exhibition, the Yesterday’s Future Lecture Series explores mapping, spatial design, architecture, urbanism and cultivating a sense of place in a community through conversations with guest artists, architects and historians.

Alan Hess, Architect and Historian

Alan Hess has written 19 books on modern architecture and urbanism in the mid-20th century. He is currently researching the architecture of Irvine, California, one of the nation’s largest master-planned communities of the 1960s and 1970s.
