Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) announced a new exhibition, Late Nights and Dr. Pepper: The Art of Robert Rodriguez. Opening November 5th and running through December 15th at LCAD Gallery. The collection is a retrospective compilation of work that spans four decades of the late nights, tight deadlines, country music and non-stop creative efforts that represents the life of acclaimed illustrator, Robert Rodriguez.
The opening reception of Late Nights and Dr. Pepper will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. during Laguna Beach First Thursday Art Walk on November 5th at LCAD Gallery, 374 Ocean Avenue.
Among his credits is the image of the Quaker and pinup calendars for 3M tape and General Tires, as well as the breakout poster campaign for the HBO series, Boardwalk Empire. Rodriguez has also done many special edition stamps for the United States Postal Service including Cinco de Mayo, Cesar Chavez, the Celebrate the Century 1980’s series, and the Cowboys of the Silver Screen series.
The exhibition is coordinated by LCAD Illustration Professor, Jason Dowd; LCAD Gallery Director, Andrea Harris-McGee; and Robert Rodriguez.
