In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Bowers Museum presents the exclusive online lecture of, Posada's Unknown Calaveras presented by the author, Gloria Arjona, Ph.D.

Learn about the artist Jose Guadalupe Posada and his lesser known works from the 19th century of female skeletons wearing fancy hats with feathers, La Catrina.  Discover the connection between Day of the Dead iconography and the medieval European concept of Dance Macabre or Dance of Death.
