National Geographic Live has been one of the Barclay’s most popular series, presenting explorers who journey to the unknown edges of the world. Now, the National Geographic Society is happy to bring the excitement of National Geographic directly to
Lullabies and stories are at the heart of children’s bedtimes around the globe. But what do these stories say about the societies in which they are told? National Geographic Explorer and photographer Hannah Reyes Morales aims to uncover how major global issues like conflict, migration, public health and climate change affect and are reflected in the bedtime stories and songs of children around the world. Her project, Living Lullabies, illuminates critical issues facing women and children by exploring families’ nighttime rituals.
In a dynamic online event, Morales will discuss the inspiration behind her project, as well as her current findings. The presentation will be illustrated by Morales’s stunning photographs and punctuated by audio clips of lullabies from around the world, captured during this assignment.
