Olga Lah: Amass and Swell

Olga Lah: Amass and Swell

at Unknown

The Orange County Museum of Art unveils a major, site-specific installation by Long Beach artist Olga Lah. Made of thousands of stacked, foam blocks, Amass and Swell will occupy the length of several large gallery walls to create a 65-foot, interactive, cavernous effect that will envelop and engage museum visitors.

Known for her immersive environments, Lah commonly explores themes of spirituality, transcendence, perception, and re-contextualization. Often using common, everyday objects, Lah’s large installations and sculptures transform simple household materials like sponges, plastic bottle caps or pool noodles into extraordinary architectural environments.
