In its Center debut, Los Angeles’ Dilijan Chamber Players offers an exciting program of Russian music from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Of particular note, in a Center premiere, is the Piano Quintet in G minor, Op. 30 by composer and concert pianist Sergei Taneyev, a close associate of Tchaikovsky and teacher of Rachmaninov and Scriabin. Though rarely performed, the Taneyev quintet is a marvelous work by a composer acclaimed for his mastery of counterpoint.

For the Segerstrom Center concert, the musicians include Movses Pogossian, violin, Varty Manouelian, violin; Guillaume Sutre, violin; Armen Ksajikian, cello and Armen Guzelimian, piano.
