Episode 3 of the new series—#Commissioned—continues South Coast Repertory’s look behind-the-scenes at what it takes to write a play. With actors interviewing playwrights. In the latest installment, playwright Ana Nogueira sits down with the very funny and versatile actor Annie Abrams to talk about the how and why of Nogueira’s playwriting. We got to know her a year ago at the Pacific Playwrights Festival in a reading of her comedy, Mask Only, which left musical theatre buffs giddy with excitement. She made a big splash in New York with her play, Empathitrax, was in the recent off-Broadway production of Bob & Ted & Carol & Alice and is in the current Starz hit, “Hightown.” Abrams last appeared at SCR in The Monster Builder, at the Ahmanson Theatre in The Sunshine Boys and on TNT’s hit show “Major Crimes.” Watch it free through Dec. 31, 2020.
