National Hugging Day

National Hugging Day

Presented by Pretend City Children's Museum at Pretend City Children's Museum

Hugs make you feel good inside and out! Hugs are also good for your health in more ways than one. When someone gives you a hug the chemical oxytocin (also known as "the cuddle hormone") is released, making us feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. Studies show that hugs are good for your heart, blood pressure, and overall stress level. So bring your children out to celebrate this national holiday where they can give and receive hugs all day; because hugs are free!

Sensational Story Time: We will be reading the book Hands are Not For Hitting by Martine Agassi Ph.D in the Orange Plaza today and we will follow with a Simon Says activity where we will use our hands in all sorts of positive ways.

Music and Movement: Join us in the Orange Plaza for a time of learning and singing the song “A Hug From You” which will be sung to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”!
