Celebrate Tu B’Shevat!

Celebrate Tu B’Shevat!

Presented by Pretend City Children's Museum at Pretend City Children's Museum

Tu B'Shevat is a Jewish holiday that begins in the evening on January 24th. It is known as the "New Year for Trees" or "Birthday of the Trees," a day that celebrates trees and taking care of our environment. Today Pretend City will celebrate this holiday with hands-on activities that will delight the senses. Join us throughout the day to participate in:

Cooking Up Cultures: Today we will mark this special day by tasting some yummy tree snacks, particularly fruits you would find in Israel like olives, dates grapes, figs and pomegranates.  Tasty Tu B’Shevat recipe cards will give your family some great cooking ideas to do together.

Smart Art: As your children cooperatively work through this art project they will familiarize themselves with all of the wonderful gifts that trees give.

Sensational Story Time: Happy Birthday, Tree: A Tu B’Shevat Story  As we read this delightful story, children will understand that they can give back. They will gain an appreciation for the beauty of nature around them and want to protect it.
