Backhausdance Summer Intensives 2016

at Chapman University - Partridge Dance Center Studio Theatre

Backhausdance Summer Intensives provide an array of diverse training programs for aspiring artists, working professionals and experienced educators. Held in the state-of-the-art dance facilities on the campus of Chapman University, the intensives support the technical growth and artistic development of the contemporary dancer. Participants have the unique opportunity to study with Artistic Director Jennifer Backhaus, Backhausdance current and former company members, and a diverse roster of esteemed educators and choreographers from around the world. Dancers will have the opportunity to rehearse daily and perform in a fully-produced concert, Backhausdance: Deconstructed, on August 5 and 6.

Pedadogy Workshop for Experienced Educators

DAILY CLASSES INCLUDE
Backhausdance Technique & Repertory, Composition, Contact Improvisation Contemporary Ballet, Contemporary Jazz, Dance Conditioning, Floor Barre, Improvisation, Partnering, Pilates, and Yoga.

EXPANDED HOUSING OPTIONS
Chaperoned housing options are available for participants of all ages at the newly renovated Ayres Hotel Orange.

NEW FOR 2016: BACKHAUSDANCE PEDAGOGY WORKSHOP
A week-long workshop designed exclusively for experienced dance educators with an emphasis on pedagogical practices and nourishing creative approaches to movement.

Tuition: $1300 Three Week, $900 Two Weeks, $550 One Week
