Celebrate Groundhog Day

Presented by Pretend City Children's Museum at Pretend City Children's Museum

Specifically for: Children of all ages; Grown-ups

Groundhog Day with Punxsutawney Phil has been a part of American History since 1887. Come learn more about the history of Groundhog Day while participating in fun activities throughout the museum to celebrate!

Sensational Story Time: Gregory’s Shadow – By two years of age children can identify themselves as individuals, separate from others. In this tale we will learn about a little groundhog named Gregory who is having trouble making the distinction between himself and his shadow.

Poetry Play: Little Groundhog – Work with your child on their fine motor skills while learning fun rhymes about Groundhog Day!

Smart Art (Art Studio): Phil on the Hill – Time to make your very own Phil to help you predict the weather!

Good to Go Game: Weather Forecast – Be prepared for Phil’s forecast by working with your child on identifying what items correspond to which season!

Play Partner: Pretendgineers and Brain Builders, our experienced stage staff of trained early childhood and child development educators, and grown-ups.
