Astronomy Night: Exploration of the Moon and Mars

Join Soka Performing Arts Center and Soka University professor Dr. Bryan Penprase for a Astronomy Night:  Exploration of the Moon and Mars.

The live virtual event looks into the exansive Milky Way Galaxy with the brand new Nieves Observatory telescope, located on the University campus, to view Mars, the Moon and other celestial objects.

Dr. Penprase will lead a discussion and answer questions about the scheduled February 18th landing on Mars of the new Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) spacecraft lander known as Perseverance, including the main science goals of the mission, its technology as well as other exciting new missions making their way to Mars and other parts of the solar system.
