Santa Ana, CA – Marcas Gallery presents a group exhibition, Latent Form, focusing on art devoid of color. The term latent, in psychological terms, means to exist in the unconscious or dormant form but potentially able to achieve expression, in other words, the symbolic meaning of a dream but in literal terms. Latent Form is represented by artwork derived from the artist’s unconscious and brought to literal terms in the context of artwork removed of color. For the majority of artists, the use of color is important, but for this exhibition, color has been stripped away leaving versatility and skill to be the key focus of the exhibition.

Latent Form will consist of twenty-one different artists working in various mediums including, painting, illustrations, and mixed media. The viewer will gain appreciation for tonal subtleties, balances between light and dark, stark contrast with delicate shading, and lastly, overall intricate detail.
