Live Performance: Remove the Noose by All Means Necessary

Presented by Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center at Online/Virtual Space

Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center (Muzeo) presents the premiere of a new live performance by artist D. Hill entitled, “Remove the Noose by All Means Necessary."

Hill reinterprets Malcolm X’s 1964 speech motto “freedom for the people by all means necessary”.  Hill positions himself as a symbol of the unjust and seeks to remove the noose, demonstrating his hope for equality.

Viewers will experience self-portraiture imagery of representation from a distinctive and personal place. Either by constructing narratives or quasi- documentaries, Hill aims to create work that evokes a conversation about cultural and political differences. His work purposefully sets up a framework for conversations dealing with the intersections of race, gender, class and sexuality.
