Saturday, March 12 & Sunday, March 13
Art Studio and Glow Cave Hands-on Art projects are complimentary with Kidseum admission.
Art Studio
Diego Rivera Watercolor
Children will create drawings inspired by the images of Popul Vuh, created by Diego Rivera. They will then learn and apply basic water color techniques such as wet-in-wet and dry brush painting and mixing colors to create their own Popul Vuh artwork. Visit the Bowers Museum's Popol Vuh exhibition to experience Diego Rivera's Art Work.
Clover Headband
Inspired by St. Patrick's Day, children will decorate their own headband using tissue paper. Small children can develop and practice fine motor skills by gluing tissue paper to create fun patterns.
Glow Cave
Frida Kahlo Coloring Page
Famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was known for her beautiful self-portraits; your children can use glow-in-the-dark color pencils to color their own Frida Kahlo Portrait.
Leprechaun Puppet
Leprechauns are a type of fairy in Irish Folklore. They are solitary creatures who spend their time making and mending shoes and have a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Children can explore the Glow in the Dark Cave and color their own leprechaun puppet to take home.
Complimentary with Kidseum admission. $6 for anyone over the age of 2.
