Happy Happy Joy Joy!: 25 Years of Creator Driven Cartoons

Presented by CSU Fullerton - College of the Arts at Nicholas & Lee Begovich Gallery, Cal State Fullerton

Nickelodeon and California State University, Fullerton’s Visual Arts Department present Happy Happy Joy Joy: 25 Years of Creator-Driven Animation, a collection of art and artifacts inspired by 25 years of Nickelodeon’s vast portfolio of iconic animated series. As the leading industry player in supporting original, creator-driven animation for kids since the launch of Doug, Rugrats and The Ren & Stimpy Show, this year marks a quarter century of groundbreaking and culturally defining animation for which Nickelodeon is known for around the world. The interactive and public retrospective exhibition will highlight the influential shows and characters that have embodied Nickelodeon’s voice from the past to the present, and will display both commissioned and archived works. From original character sketches to annotated storyboards to video interviews with notable animation veterans, you will experience the entirety of these creators’ visions.
