Drawing with Ryman Arts

Presented by Ryman Arts and Imagination Celebration at Online/Virtual Space

In this workshop, we will introduce the concept of observational drawing. Students will learn some basic drawing skills and tips when drawing still life. This a great session for all drawing level 6th – 12th-grade students.

Students will need paper, a pencil, and an eraser. Other drawing materials like, tablets, laptops, etc. are welcome. Participants can prepare a small still life of 2 – 3 of their favorite objects before class. Students are welcome to join in to listen and learn together.

Ryman Arts is a non-profit organization that offers professional studio art classes with college and career guidance, free of charge, to talented youth who want to pursue a future in the arts. Students are challenged with rigorous drawing and painting classes and mentored by working artists. The program provides 3 ½-hour classes at California State University, Fullerton on Saturdays, and Otis College of Art and Design on Sundays for two 12-week sessions a year. The program includes discussions with visiting artists, field trips, and college planning/career guidance workshops. Each accepted student receives a full scholarship that covers the cost of instruction, art supplies, field trips, and public transportation passes or reimbursement.
