His Romeo

Ballet22 presents His Romeo, a short dance film paying homage to the tragic romance of Romeo and Juliet. Choreographed by Joshua Stayton, danced by Roberto Vega Ortiz & Joshua Stayton, and filmed at the San Francisco Marriott by Concepto4's Natasha Adorlee and Rob Sugitan, this dance film explores the music of Sergei Prokofiev, the beauty of male partnerning, and the universal tragedy of forbidden love. Ballet22 exists to push the boundaries of what is possible in ballet. The company seeks to break gender stereotypes in ballet, specifically by presenting men, mxn, transgender, and male-identifying artists on pointe.
