The Arts & Learning Conservatory offers a variety of exciting Summer Camps for kids in grades K-12! Sing, dance, and act the Summer away in one of our professionally instructed camps, happening June-August at our new Costa Mesa studio.

EXPLORATORY DAY THEATRE CAMPS:

Arts & Learning offers 1 week half-day camps for those entering 1st through 3rd grade (Exploratory Arts). Using a variety of titled themes as springboards, campers explore creative drama, music, movement, and visual art activities to bring stories to life. On the final day of camp, parents are invited to join the class for the final 30 minutes to see a culmination of the work explored during the session. Camps run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. This year features: Toy Story Fun, Despicable Me, Hotel Transylvania, Nemo & Dory, Star Wars Jedi, Little Mermaid, Alice & the Mad Hatter, Amelia Bedelia, and even a Comedy Improv camp!

MUSICAL THEATRE ARTS CAMPS:

Theater Arts Camps are more performance-oriented and provide students Grade 4 and above with an intensive and fun rehearsal and performance experience. Each week is titled to provide a theme that the performers and artistic staff use to envision a Showcase/Revue that is devised, rehearsed, and performed all in two weeks! Songs are selected based on the week’s theme. Some Theater Arts Camps take a look at musical theatre genres (21st Century Broadway and Golden Age of Theatre), while others explore just one show (Grease, Wicked etc). Throughout the week, students are coached in singing, acting, scene work, character building, and dance/choreography. The final performance is held on Friday at 7 p.m. Offered this year is: Jungle Book, Alice, Hairspray Highlights, and Newsies Revue (Summer Stock Theatre).

TECHNICAL THEATRE CAMP

Come explore the world of theater BEHIND-THE-SCENES and be a part of putting on a theatrical show. Campers will get to work hands-on for two weeks, creating set pieces, embellish costumes, make props, design programs and posters, create photo/video posts and publicity for A&L social media, develop the camp slideshow and much more. You’ll be a part of the backstage crew and help with dress rehearsals making each show the best ever!
