Andy Alison will present on “Clementine Schmidt Langenberger: Anaheim’s First Pioneer Woman of Scandal and Respect.” The presentation will include the pioneer story of the woman behind Anaheim’s namesake, the Langenberger love scandal of the 1870s, Clementine Street, the Madame Modjeska letters and ultimately Anaheim’s first lady of strength and respect.

Andy Alison is a local historian and enthusiastic public speaker with a fascinating Anaheim history of his own. Andy is a direct descendant of Anaheim’s earliest German pioneers, Theodore and Clementine Schmidt- Langenberger, who are recognized for naming the City of Anaheim in 1858. Andy’s passion for local history offers a rare and exciting perspective into Anaheim’s early history with his charismatic storytelling. Derived from his extensive family history in both Orange County and Los Angeles County, Andy has amassed a fabulous collection of historical assets from 5 generations of his family’s local history from 1849 to present day. Andy spent his formative years in Newport Beach and now resides in Laguna Beach. While continuing his career in Real Estate, including renovation, management and sales of commercial and residential historic properties throughout Southern California, Andy is now producing local documentary films.
