Perspective is key in the concept exhibition that curator Jim Kempton created with artist Rick Delanty. Delanty’s award-winning plein air landscapes and seascapes will present a view of Catalina Island from the mainland, edging – work by work – closer, until the island gains clarity and dominance. Chosen by Jim Kempton, the Board President of the California Surf Museum and onetime publisher and editor of Surfer Magazine, the exhibition will set the tone for a fresh approach to Catalina’s allure and mystique.
The exhibition opening will correspond with Casa Romantica’s annual luau, themed in the style of pan-island cultures. Haole Boys Shave Ice will be on-site with their scrumptious warm-weather desserts, and guests will be entertained by the beautiful traditional island rhythms of Pretty Hula Dancers. The opening party will be free to the public.
Admission: $5.00
