Saddleback College Art Gallery presents Two Birds One Stone, the collaborative works by Bay Area artists KC Rosenberg and Modesto Covarrubias (RoCoCo0.
The artists intentionally blur the lines of authorship in the art objects they create, sometimes passing them back and forth (as they did during the lockdown of the pandemic) and sometimes working together in each other’s studios to complete pieces.
Both are mutually drawn to the ability of materials to transform and reassign meaning, not just in their assembly, but also in the space they occupy. Physical manifestations of forgiveness, expressing the anxieties of gentrification, or highlighting the way certain groups are systematically silenced are just some of the topics expressed in the work.
