Award-Winning Artist and Teacher, Fernando Micheli will demonstrate his Plein Air technique on January 16, 3-5 pm
Fernando Micheli is a longtime resident of Laguna Beach and a member of the Laguna Plein Air Painter’s Association (LPAPA). He was born in the small Tuscan village of Fiano, above Lucca, Italy and immigrated with his family to the U.S. growing up in San Francisco. His background is in Environmental Design, working in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. He designed many high-profile urban projects until he retired in 2014 and pursued his desire to become an artist specializing in oil painting. Fernando focused on the immediacy of Plein Air and representational art, capturing the beauty of California and his travels abroad.
He mentors grade school students under LPAPA’s Plein Air Project Education Program, teaches indoor classes at the Sawdust Festival, and conducts Plein Air classes with local students. His studio is in Laguna Beach.

The demonstration will take place in the San Clemente Community Center Ole Hanson Room, next to the gallery. Snacks and coffee are provided. Fernando's demonstration will start at 3 with a brief break in between for questions and refreshments. It ends at 5pm. All attendees will receive a raffle ticket for a prize from our demonstrator.
Please allow enough time for parking and registering. This event is free for members and $5. for non-members. Fernando may have some pieces for sale at the event.
