Free arts/literature workshops
Vietnamese American Arts & Literature Association (VAALA) invites the community to join our Gallery Beyond Walls Workshop Sunday Series March 13 through May 22.
Re-discover your roots and identity through art. Learn the arts of storytelling, mixed media, and comics/zine making during our free 12-week series.
We will exhibit your work in a gallery at the end of the project. You must be between the ages of 16 and 26 to participate. If you're under the age of 18, you must submit a waiver form to us.
Please note for the best experience during these workshops is to attend a minimum of 10 out of 12 workshops. The first two workshops are required to be in person. Future workshops can be attended virtually through Zoom. We require this so that workshop participants can get comfortable in getting to know one another in order to share personal stories or experiences during the program.
Workshops will take place on Sundays, 11am - 2 pm, from March 13 until May 22, with an exhibition in June. There will be an optional Meet & Greet session on Sunday, March 6 from 11 am-1 pm at the Garden Grove Main Library for those interested in learning more about the program.
