Lecture: Mexican American Pilots in WWII

Heroes Hall presents our next Fighting for the Right, Speaker Series.

Eagles in the Sky: Mexican American Pilots of WWII with Judge Frederick Aguirre.

Judge Frederick Aguirre will present a photographic display of 11 World War II bomber pilots. He will weave in statistics regarding the service of over 500,000 Mexican American service members in WWII and discuss the challenges they faced due to their Mexican heritage.

About the speaker:  Judge Aguirre is an Orange County native.  He attended USC on an academic scholarship then completed his law degree at UCLA on a UC Regent’s Fellowship.

He was appointed to the Orange County Superior Court and served until his retiring in 2017.

Judge Aguirre, his wife Linda, and Rogelio Rodriguez have co-authored three books profiling over 2,000 Mexican American veterans of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam.
