The Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) will present four showings of Noël Coward’s comedy, Blithe Spirit, in its APA Studio Theater.
Blithe Spirit will kick off APA's 2022-2023 show season and will serve as a benefit performance for the APA Theatre Guild, which encompasses APA’s Acting, Costume Design, Dramatic Production, and Technical Theatre departments. All tickets to Blithe Spirit include meals catered by local Huntington Beach business Love at First Bite.
About Blithe Spirit – Writer Charles Condomine has high hopes for his latest paranormal novel, "The Unseen." For inspiration, he and his wife Ruth host a séance with eccentric local medium Madame Arcati, and invite their friends to join in on the spectacle. The evening takes a sudden supernatural turn when Arcati unwittingly conjures Charles' deceased first wife, Elvira, who has no intention of leaving. Love and marriage devolve into laughter and mayhem in this high-spirited classic, and Charles soon learns that he is the sole exception to the phrase “Till Death Do Us Part.”
