Piano Duet Concert with Esther Yune and Susan Kim-Pedroza

Join us for this special duet concert featuring two splendid concert pianists.

Esther Yune received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music and her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music. While studying at Eastman, she earned the Performer’s Certificate and the Graduate Award in piano accompanying. Among other performance experiences, Dr. Yune performed as a soloist at the Commencement Concert with the NEC
symphony orchestra before leaving Boston. Her teachers include Wha Kyung Byun, Barry Snyder, and Soo-jung Shin.

Featured as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist, Dr. Yune’s inspiring interpretations have been greatly appreciated by audiences in various venues. She was invited as a solo performer at Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, and also gave a performance and masterclasses at UKLIM University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Since moving to Southern California in 2003, Dr. Yune has continued sharing her passion for music as she continued performing, adjudicating, and devoting her time to nurturing students of all ages.

Susan Kim-Pedroza started her piano studies at the age of 3. She attended the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of Southern California where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance. She studied with Kevin Fitz-Gerald, Daniel Pollack, Constance Keene, and Dr. M’lou Dietzer. Susan is active serving as an adjudicator for various piano competitions, and auditions throughout Southern California. She is currently serving as the Program Director for the Orange County North Branch of the Music Teachers Association of California. She has served as the Regional Chairperson for the Southern California Junior Bach Festival (2007-present);CAPMT Concerto Competition Chairperson (2011-2013); Recording Secretary(2007-2009) & Treasurer (2009-2011) for the Music Teachers Association of California, North Orange County Branch; and the Director of the West Coast Conservatory, Fullerton, California (2006-2011).

Her recent performances include the Zipper Hall, at the Colburn School of Music, Muckenthaler Cultural Art Center in Fullerton, Marcee Auditorium at the El Camino College, Long Beach City College Auditorium, Westbecker Hall of Pasadena College, Pasadena Presbyterian Church,and the Ruth Todd Hall of Long Beach City College. She has been on the adjunct faculty at Long Beach City College since 2012, and teaches privately in Anaheim Hills, California.
