The Escalette Collection at Chapman University invities the community to a free onsite lecture, Creative Sovereignty: A Conversation with Gerald Clarke.
Mark your calendars for an artist talk with Gerald Clarke, sculptor and installation and conceptual artist from the Cahuilla Band of Mission Indians. His work often reflects on and questions current issues in Native America and the United States, as well as his personal life. Gerald serves on the Cahuilla Tribal Council and is also Professor and Vice Department Chair of Ethnic Studies at the University of California Riverside.
The Escalette Collection recently acquired two of Clarke’s works, One Tract Mind: Baskets (2009) and The United States of Amnesia ll (2017) through the generosity of the Ellingson Family.
