Join us for An Exhibition Walk-Through with Artist Arie A. Galles in Founders Hall at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.  Professor Galles welcomes all to a chronological walk-through of the exhibition’s selected artworks, which span 59 years of creativity, processes, and aesthetics. About the Artist

Arie A. Galles has been an artist since childhood, beginning with his discovery of tailor’s chalk in his father’s home workshop. This exhibition explores a journey of artistic transformations, describing the arc of Galles’ iconography in his “Heartland” Reflected-Light paintings, “Fourteen Stations/Hey Yud Dalet” drawings, and other suites including “Sinister Drawings,” “PepperTree,” “Galicja” and “Orchard.”

Galles was born in Uzbekistan. He received his BFA from Tyler School of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, in 1968, and his MFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1971. Galles is Professor Emeritus and Artist in Residence at Soka University, Aliso Viejo, CA. From 2004 through 2010 he served as Director of Soka’s Creative Arts Program. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows throughout the US, Canada and abroad.
